Why Players need to be Tactical: Positional Development in Youth Soccer
For players to succeed in soccer it is imperative that proper ‘positioning’ is developed. The most important step in positional development is tactics. This refers to individual or group specific actions with the purpose of determining how a player or team will play the game. To start, a player should have a conceptual understanding of the basic positioning and/or tactical behavior on the field. Once s/he has mastered that, the individual must then learn to coordinate their actions accordingly.
